Scott Frost has injury update on Nebraska RB Gabe Ervin

Nebraska held its own against former Big Eight rival Oklahoma on Saturday during the 50th anniversary matchup of the Game of the Century, keeping the Sooners and holding their potent offense to thier lowest point total since 2016. And while the Huskers lost on the scoreboard, 23-16, they may have suffered an even greater loss during the game.
Running back Gabe Ervin fell with a non-contact injury while making a spin move out of the Nebraska backfield after his knee buckled while taking the handoff from quarterback Adrian Martinez.
Huskers head coach Scott Frost gave an update on Monday on Ervin.
Scott Frost says Gabe Ervin may be out for the year with a patella injury. Didn’t want to rule him out categorically, but he’s going to miss a while. #Huskers

Ervin is in his freshman year at Nebraska, and entering the Saturday game with the Sooners he had 28 carries for 106 yards, including a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Huskers. According to Frost, the injury to Ervin’s patella may, or may not keep him from returning to the field this season.
Nebraska travels to East Lansing to take on No. 21 Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 PM.
