Northwestern has just received the largest donation in school history. The Ryan family is donating $480 million, part of which will help to redevelop Ryan Field.

The last renovation for Ryan Field came in 1997.

“The impact of their visionary generosity on past, present and future Wildcats is truly incomparable,” Northwestern Athletic Director Derrick Gragg said. “The rebuilt Ryan Field will be a world-class venue befitting this institution’s pursuit of excellence in all areas.”

Defending B1G West champion Northwestern is off to a 1-2 start to the 2021 season. Northwestern is coming off a 30-23 loss at Duke. Next up for Northwestern is a home matchup vs. Ohio on Sept. 25 (12 p.m. EST/BTN).
