Penn State basketball landed another big commitment Friday afternoon.
Demetrius Lilley, a 3-star recruit from Pennsylvania, announced he’s staying home and joining the Nittany Lions next season. He’s a 3-star recruit and the No. 9-ranked prospect in Pennsylvania, according to 247sports.
2022 Lower Merion (PA) PF/C Demetrius Lilley has committed to Penn State. Gives the Nittany Lions a skilled big with the ability to space the floor + make decisions with the ball in his hands. Lilley, a 6-foot-10 center, took a visit to Penn State on Sept. 10 and also held offers from Texas A&M and St. Joseph’s, among others. He’s entering his senior year at Lower Merion High School, which also produced the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
It’s yet another solid addition to Micah Shrewsberry’s 2022 recruiting class, which 247sports ranks as the 9th-best in the nation. Penn State is also waiting to hear a decision from 4-star recruit Otega Oweh, who 247sports predicts will go to Happy Valley. He rescheduled his commitment from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1 this week.
Still, it’s impressive to see Shrewsberry recruiting like this ahead of his first season as Nittany Lions coach.
