Notre Dame backup quarterback Drew Pyne never saw it coming.

On a 1st-and-10 play from the Badgers 48-yard line, Pyne dropped back and was quickly hit from behind by Wisconsin defensive tackle Rodas Johnson. The ball was stripped from Pyne’s throwing hand, finally coming to rest in the arms of Badgers linebacker Jack Sanborn.

The Badgers took over on the Notre Dame 38-yard line, and after nine plays and 30 yards, they took a 13-10 lead on a Collin Larsh 27-yard field goal.

Notre Dame immediately responded with a dramatic kick return touchdown, but that field goal by Larsh could loom large as the Badgers look to get back into it.
