Another week, another disappointing result from the Nebraska Cornhuskers. On Saturday, Nebraska went on the road to give No. 20 Michigan State a tough fight. Michigan State forced overtime with a 62-yard punt return for a touchdown from Jaylen Reed.
Nebraska had a chance to score first in overtime, but quarterback Adrian Martinez continued to hurt the team with a costly interception. This set up a 21-yard field goal from Michigan State kicker Matt Coghlin to give the Spartans the 23-20 win overtime.
Nebraska currently has a 2-3 overall five games into the 2021 season. The Cornhuskers have accumulated an overall record of 14-23 (9-19 in B1G play) in the fourth season with Scott Frost as head coach.

After the game, Frost gave his thoughts and concerns about the loss by saying that the loss was “the same movie” and that the little thing hurt the team by saying, “I’m sick of it.”
Frost was especially disappointed in the way special teams gave Michigan State the will to come back and eventually win the game.
“These guys gotta do it,” Scott Frost says. “They’ve got to get sick of this stuff.”

Frost is furious. The one thing that is somewhat out of a coach’s hands, aside from player acquisition in the offseason, is kicker/punter technique.

Frost said there are guys who are sick to their stomach about these losses and they have to get on the other guys.

Frost says Nebraska gave up 200/300 yards of hidden yards.
“We’ve got to be able to trust guys to do what they’re here to do.”

Frost: “I’m sick of it, they’re sick of it.” Said he needs guys to do their job.
Punt went to the wrong side. Supposed to go right, it went left.
