5 teams in the B1G ranked in the top 25 of the SP+ rankings after week 4

After week four’s crazy week, there are some adjustments to be made in the top 25 rankings. Five teams in the B1G remain undefeated after some tough and close matchups. The Penn State Nittany Lions had one of the most decisive victories in the entire B1G when they defeated Villanova 38-17. The Maryland Terrapins also had a decisive 37-16 victory over Kent State at home.
ESPN’s Bill Connelly updated the SP+ top 25 rankings of overall efficiency and productivity. There is shown to be a big surprise in the rankings regarding the rankings of the B1G teams.
Here are the B1G teams included in the top 25:
- 3. Ohio State
- 5. Penn State
- 8. Michigan
- 11. Wisconsin
- 24. Maryland
Just outside of the SP+ top 25 rankings are the Iowa Hawkeyes at No. 28.
Out of all the undefeated teams in the B1G, Ohio State is the team that is ranked above their undefeated conference opponents. The Wisconsin Badgers are the only two-loss team to be included in the rankings. The SP+ rankings are predictive and forward-facing.
