Nebraska’s special teams have been horrendous this season.
They have had every special teams gaffe you could think of; they have even made up ones you thought were not possible. The Huskers have had multiple muffed punts, missed FG, a blocked FG that went back for 2 points, a 7-yard punt and a shanked punt that led to the PR walking into the end zone.
By my count, Nebraska’s special teams has been responsible for a 29-point gap between its opponents this year.
Opponents scores: safety, punt return & PAT return = 11 points
Points left on field: include 5 missed FGs, 3 missed PATs = 18 points
3 losses by 18 total points.

The special teams for Nebraska have been so bad that it has caused a 29 point gap on the field.
Opponents have scored 11 points on special teams, whether it be a safety, punt return or a blocked XP.
The Huskers themselves have left 18 points to die somewhere on the field in 5 games, 5 missed FGs and 3 XPs.
Suppose Nebraska’s special teams would have just played average so far this season. They could be potentially be looking at a 5-0 start in a weak B1G West.
Nebraska is at home this weekend against Northwestern at 7:30 ET on BTN.
