Could the Jack Plummer Era come to and end this week?
Purdue coach Jeff Brohm didn’t make it sound promising. In his weekly press conference Monday morning, he said he’d name a starting quarterback this week — internally.

Jeff Brohm: Aidan O'Connell has poise in pocket and command of the offense. Last two foes have taken away deep ball; need to make intermediate throws, which O'Connell can do.

The Boilermakers scored just one touchdown this week against Illinois, and it came with 5:44 left in the 4th quarter. Plummer started and completed 12 of 21 passes for 95 yards. But backup Aidan O’Connell came in during the second half and went 12-for-19 passing for 182 yards and the game’s lone touchdown.
Plummer is averaging 210 yards per game on 82-for-118 passing and 7 touchdowns, but has struggled over the last two games against Notre Dame and Purdue. He completed 37 of 57 passes in Weeks 3 and 4 for 282 yards and 1 touchdown in those matchups.
We’ll see which Boilermaker QB is under center on Saturday when Purdue takes on Minnesota in its Homecoming game.
