Minnesota got some great news heading into this week regarding one of their best players.

Receiver Chris Autman-Bell returned to practice on Sunday for the first time since he suffered his ankle injury.

It’s unknown if he’ll be available for Saturday’s game against Purdue but head coach P.J. Fleck said the fact that he’s catching balls and running is a great sign.

Autman-Bell has only appeared in 2 games this season (Sept. 18 against Colorado and Sept. 25 against Bowling Green), and his best one came against the former. He had 4 receptions for 79 yards against the Buffaloes with a long of 33.

Prior to this season, he’s had 300 yards receiving or better in his last 3 seasons with the best one coming in 2018. He finished with 28 receptions for 449 yards that year as a freshman.

The Golden Gophers’ offense isn’t the same without him and the faster they can get him back, the more dangerous they can be.
