Mel Tucker offers update on MSU DE Drew Beesley

Michigan State could be without a big part of its defense this week.
Spartans coach Mel Tucker (kind of) addressed graduate student DE Drew Beesley’s injury in his weekly press conference on Tuesday. He didn’t discuss the severity of the injury, nor did he give a timeline for his return.
Tucker says DE Drew Beesley is sore, calls it a lower-body injury and adds "he will be ready when he's ready. Compliments the sixth-year seniors: "He's the epitome of Michigan State football, in my opinion."

Beesley, an honorable mention All-B1G selection last year, suffered an apparent leg injury last week against Nebraska and didn’t return. So far this season, he has 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble as a big part of Tucker’s defense. He’s served as a captain twice this season.
The Spartans are 4-0 for the first time since 2015 and are coming off an overtime victory over Nebraska in Week 4. They’re getting set to take a break from conference play this week when Western Kentucky visits Spartan Stadium on Saturday.
As for Beesley’s availability, we’ll see if we get any more updates as the week goes on.
