Maryland is 4-0 for the first time since 2016. If Maryland knocks off Iowa, it would be the program’s first 5-0 start since 2001. The last time Maryland defeated a top-five opponent was against Florida State in 2004, according to the AP.
Iowa is also off to a 4-0 start and most recently defeated Colorado State 24-14. Iowa leads the all-time series 2-1 vs. Maryland. The lone Maryland victory in the series came in the inaugural 2014 contest.
Maryland-Iowa is slated for Oct. 1 (8 p.m. EST) and will be televised on FS1.
