The rookie Fields has had a wrap on his right thumb during practice after making his first pro start last week in a 26-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Fields passed for 68 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. The Bears had a net total of 47 yards, which was their lowest in 40 years, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
The Bears selected Fields with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields was a Second-team All–American in 2019 at Ohio State.
