The Badgers have unveiled a pretty awesome game ball honoring their greatest coach in program history.

The ball has a drawing of Barry Alvarez in a red Wisconsin jacket with shades and his signature right below it.

Alvarez coached the Badgers for 16 years and totaled 119 wins over that span with 72 losses and 4 ties. His best season came in 1998 when Wisconsin went 11-1 and won the Rose Bowl. They also finished No. 6 in the country at the end of that season.

Other than that, Alvarez also coached the Badgers to 3 other double-digit win seasons. The first one came in 1993 when they went 10-1 and won the Rose Bowl. The other 2 came in 1999 and 2005 as the Badgers won 10 games in both seasons.

Alvarez officially retired after the 2005 season, though he did fill in for Gary Anderson when Anderson left the school in 2014. He coached them to a win in the Capital One Bowl.

Wisconsin will play Michigan in Madison on Saturday at Noon ET.
