Ohio State gave C.J. Stroud the week off last weekend, and the rest appeared to have a great impact on his overall performance in Week 5.

Returning to the starting role for the game against Rutgers, Stroud was masterful and put up eye-popping numbers as the Buckeyes rolled in New Jersey. He did not see much action after halftime but did more than enough to get sharp in the win.

In particular, Stroud thrived on throws 10+ yards past the line of scrimmage. According to PFF College, the QB was 9-for-10 on such passes in the win.

Those 9 completions went for 226 yards and 3 TDs while producing a perfect passer rating:

It was good to see Stroud look right, and hopefully, his shoulder issue is totally behind him. The Buckeyes return to Columbus to face Maryland in Week 6.
