Ohio State product Justin Fields is officially the starting quarterback of the Chicago Bears going forward for the rest of the season.
Bears coach Matt Nagy announced the decision to go with Fields over veteran Andy Dalton on Oct. 6. The rookie quarterback shared how his family celebrated after learning he was named the Bears’ starting quarterback.

The Bears selected Fields with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields was a Second-team All–American in 2019 at Ohio State.
Fields was a Second-team All–American in 2019 at Ohio State. Fields amassed 5,701 yards and 67 touchdowns through the air and 1,113 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground during his college career at Georgia and Ohio State.
Fields guided Ohio State to back-to-back appearances in the College Football Playoff during his two seasons with the program.
