Pro Football Focus: Northwestern’s Austin Carr was top-graded WR in 2016

On Saturday night, Dede Westbrook will be one of five finalists for college football’s most-coveted award. The Oklahoma receiver is considered the top receiver in the country, which is why he’s up for the Heisman Trophy.
But if you ask the guys at Pro Football Focus, Austin Carr has been better.
PFF announced on Tuesday that the Northwestern wideout was the top-graded receiver in all of college football:

For those who haven’t been paying attention, Carr has been sensational for the Wildcats.
He racked up 1,196 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns — that tied a Northwestern record — in 2016. Among Power Five wideouts, he finished fifth in receiving yards and seventh in receiving touchdowns. Carr’s receptions and yards marks were the second most in a season by a Wildcat.
Carr was the B1G Receiver of the Year and a unanimous first-team all-conference selection. The former walk-on helped lead Northwestern to its second-straight bowl berth.
He could be in line for some more national attention. Carr is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the nation’s top receiver.
