Xavier Nwankpa, the No. 3 recruit at the safety position for the class of 2022 made news recently after he announced his top three prospective schools, narrowing the list to Ohio State, Notre Dame and Iowa.

Nwankpa announced over his Twitter account that he will be making an official visit to Iowa this weekend.

No. 3 Iowa will be welcoming No. 4 Penn State to Iowa City on Saturday afternoon in what is sure to be the showcase matchup of the weekend.

In addition to being the No. 3 safety, Nwankpa ranks No. 45 overall regardless of position, per 247Sports. He had been considering Clemson, LSU, Texas A&M, and several other programs but had recently narrowed his list to the top three.

Nwankpa made a visit to Iowa unofficially in June, and then again for the season opener against Indiana on Sept. 4.
