Did the B1G just witness the worst half of QB play ever in Wisconsin-Illinois game?

Wisconsin and Illinois are squaring off in Champaign for Week 6. The Badgers lead 10-0 at halftime, but that is far from the story of the first half.

Instead, the miserable showing by quarterbacks on both sides of the ball has taken all the attention. Illinois has played 2 guys under center, but neither is finding much success. The same goes for Wisconsin’s Graham Mertz.

For the Badgers, Mertz has completed 3 of 9 passes for 15 yards. He has an interception without a touchdown. Fortunately for Wisconsin, the Badgers gained 191 yards on the ground in the first half.

For the Illini, Brandon Peters is 3-for-7 with just 12 yards to his credit. Art Sitkowski has also played, but he is a disappointing 0-for-7 throwing the ball.

That accounts for 27 yards passing – combined – after one half of action. This kind of show may truly be the worst half of QB play that the B1G has seen.
