Lamar Jackson is going to be a remembered as one of the greatest players in Louisville football history forever.

That was always going to be the case for the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, but the Louisville football program plans to ensure its permanence. And it did so in an awesome way.

This week, Louisville caught Jackson off-guard with an announcement that his jersey number would be retired by the school. The current Baltimore Ravens quarterback thought he was doing a media appearance when he was surprised with the news.

Below is the video of that moment. It’s undoubtedly one of the best things you’ll see on the Internet.

Jackson spent 3 years at Louisville and was one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He threw for 9,043 yards and 69 touchdowns while also rushing for 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns. The Cardinals were 25-14 with Jackson under center.

During his Heisman Trophy campaign in 2016, Jackson threw for 3,543 yards and rushed for 1,571 more. He accounted for 51 total touchdowns while the Cardinals enjoyed a 9-4 season.

Jackson’s success has translated well to the NFL, as he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
