The state of Florida is having its worst college football season in a decade

It’s been 10 years since the Florida college football landscape looks like it does now.
Will Muschamp was in his first season at Florida after Urban Meyer left. Jimbo Fisher was in his second year as Florida State head coach. And the state didn’t have a single ranked FBS team.
It took a decade for the latter to happen again. None of Florida’s CFB teams appeared in this week’s AP Top 25.

That’s crazy, isn’t it?
Miami and Florida were in the preseason poll, and the Gators were in last week’s Top 25 before losing to LSU 49-42 on Saturday. The loss dropped Florida to 4-3 on the season — and out of the polls.
The Gators were the only team from the state to receive votes in the Week 8 AP poll, appearing on 7 ballots. What a time.
