Indiana will be without one of its main wide receivers for the rest of the season, but the surgery was deemed a success.

Indiana wide receiver DJ Matthews tweeted a thank you to the Indiana University medical stuff and to those wishing him well after a surgery for his ACL injury.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Matthews was a transfer from Florida State. Matthews sustained the injury during Indiana’s game vs. Western Kentucky on Sept. 25. Prior to his injury, Matthew tallied 13 receptions and 165 yards in 4 games this season.

Indiana coach Tom Allen also recently updated the injury status for defensive backs Reese Taylor and Tiawan Mullen.

Indiana is currently 2-4 and sixth place in the B1G East. No. 5 Ohio State is currently tied for second with No. 6 Michigan behind No. 9 Michigan State in the B1G East.

Ohio State leads the all-time series 76-12-5 vs. Indiana and has a 25-game winning streak vs. the Hoosiers. Indiana’s last victory vs. Ohio State in the series was in 1988.

Ohio State-Indiana is slated for Oct. 23 (7:30 p.m. EST/ABC).
