As we look forward to this weekend’s Week 8 games in the B1G, there are some interesting stats that come along with the matchups.

First off, Northwestern hasn’t beaten an AP top-6 team since beating Michigan in 1996. The Wildcats head to Ann Arbor to take on the No. 6 Wolverines, and Jim Harbaugh has them firing on all cylinders, so that streak may continue.

Staying in-state, Illinois is looking for its first road win against a ranked team since 2007 when they head to Happy Valley to take on No. 7 Penn State. It’s doubtful that streak will end either.

There’s plenty to look at with the matchup between No. 25 Purdue and Wisconsin. The Boilermakers will be looking to remain in the Top-25, while the Badgers have won 14 straight games against Purdue. The Badgers haven’t lost at Ross-Ade Stadium since 1997.

When Minnesota hosts Maryland, the Gophers will be one of three schools to have three running backs rush for over 100 yards this season.

Finally, when Ohio State travels to Bloomington to take on Indiana, the Buckeyes will be riding a 26-game winning streak over the Hoosiers – the longest streak by one B1G team over another in conference play. And OSU is trying to become the 5th FBS team in the last 50 years to win 10 straight conference road games by double digits.

For Indiana, the Buckeyes are the fourth Top-10 team they are facing this season and they are looking to get a victory over their first Top-5 team since 1967.
