Anyone tuning into college football on Saturday afternoons regularly this fall can pick up on the fact that Aidan Hutchinson is playing at a high level. The Michigan defensive end has presented problems to every offense he has faced this season.
How does he stack up among some of the other top defensive ends in the country? According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Hutchinson is the playing the best through the first seven weeks of the season.
PFF has Hutchinson listed as the highest-graded defensive end in college football right now. He’s edged out South Carolina’s Kingsley Enagbare, Oklahoma’s Nik Bonitto and Kentucky’s Josh Pascal.

Through 6 games, Hutchinson has totaled a B1G-best 5.5 sacks, tied with Michigan State’s Jacub Panasiuk. He’s also been credited with 24 stops, 3 quarterback hurries and a forced fumble during the Wolverines’ 6-0 start.
Competition is about to pick up quite a bit for Michigan, which will put more pressure on Hutchinson. The Wolverines still have Michigan State, Penn State and Ohio State remaining on the schedule.
As well as he’s played through 6 games, Michigan needs him to continue to play at a high level in the second half of the season.
