What Jeff Brohm said ahead of Purdue’s matchup vs. Nebraska

Purdue’s stay in the AP Top 25 sure was short-lived.
The Boilermakers, fresh off their upset of then-No. 2 Iowa, struggled against a strong Wisconsin defense in their 30-13 loss in week 8. Just when it looked like Purdue was starting to figure things out on offense, it took a few steps back.
Aidan O’Connell looked alright at quarterback, completing 24 of 32 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. But Wisconsin did a great job taking star wide receiver David Bell out of the equation, holding him to 33 yards and 6 catches.
Now, the Boilermakers are getting ready to take on Nebraska, which is coming off a bye. The Cornhuskers have had an up-and-down season so far and most recently lost to Minnesota 30-23 in Week 7.
Purdue coach Jeff Brohm talked about the matchup, as well as who his QB1 will be and some injury updates.
Here’s what he had to say:

Brohm: Kickoff man Chris Van Eekeren was hurt (ankle) in warmups at Iowa. Mitchell Fineran kicked off last week. Ben Freehill is another kickoff option. Each could kickoff at Nebraska. Van Eekeren is not out for season.

Brohm: If #Purdue needs to dip into the OL depth chart, next men up would be Cam Craig, Jared Bycznski and Mahamane Moussa.

Brohm: Not optimistic on RB Zander Horvath return. Also: OT Greg Long (head), DE Kydran Jenkins (head), G Tyler Witt (hand) are dinged up. DE DaMarcus Mitchell won't play on Saturday.
