Iowa and Wisconsin will look to add a new chapter to the rivalry on Saturday. The series is really close at the moment, with Wisconsin leading by just four games at 48-44 all time. Iowa has won four out of the last five matchups between the two schools.
Wisconsin and Iowa are both coming off games against Purdue that both had very different outcomes.
The Hawkeyes were upset by the Boilermakers one week before the Badgers played them in a 24-7 loss putting Purdue in the Top 25. Wisconsin came in and beat the Boilermakers 30-13 in a short-lived return to the top 25 for Purdue.
Iowa will be coming off a bye heading into this game. Wisconsin is riding a three game win streak after originally starting the year at 1-3 through four games.
Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst talked about the matchup, gave praise to running back Braelon Allen, and talked about the offensive line in the presser.
Here’s what Chryst had to say:
Paul Chryst: It’s a good opportunity and a great challenge to play a really good Iowa team.
And yes, he said he’s looking forward to a great week of preparation.

Chryst says there was some questioning as to what position would be best for Braelon Allen when he got to Wisconsin.
Says he appreciates Allen’s confidence and humbleness to be willing to contribute in any capacity

Chryst on red zone struggles: You’re aware of it, but I spend time focusing on our team offensively and defensively. …I don’t know of any outlier or trend to it.
Says ball security has been an issue. “Teams that (take care of the ball) are successful.”

Chryst on Iowa: As you prepare for a team, you look at who are they?
It’s a really well-coached football team. They’ve got really talented players. They understand offensively, defensively and special teams who they are. They understand what they’re asked to do.

Chryst said this is always a challenging week but his players are looking forward to it

#Badgers HC Paul Chryst: “We’ve all got to grow from [facing adversity] but we’ve all got to help each other too.”
The ebbs and flows of Wisconsin’s season haven’t been picture perfect but Chryst sees a lot in this group regarding accountability and brotherhood. pic.twitter.com/AaBAA51aA8

Chryst: One of the reasons I like this team is they truly care about each other. They know if someone is all in and puts it all out there.
It’s a good feeling when you know you got guys who care about you.

Chryst says improvement of Wisconsin’s offensive line has basically because the group has continued to work hard.
“They just roll up there sleeves, and know they’re in this together.”

Chryst says he “doesn’t play the comparison game” when asked how playing teams like Penn State, Notre Dame & Michigan help heading into matchup vs. Iowa.
