This Saturday’s matchup of No. 6 Michigan at No. 8 Michigan State will feature a game with several matchups on both sides of the ball. Michigan’s offense will face the tough task of taking on a highly efficient defense of Michigan State.

On Monday, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh had this to say about getting ready to face the defense of Michigan State:

“They have a very good defensive front,” said Harbaugh. “They also have a player of high claiber, like we do.” … “They’re really good defending the play-action pass, RPOs, run schemes. We’re going to have to play really good. (That) always is but especially this week.”

Angelique Chengelis with the Detroit News shared Harbaugh’s comments:

Michigan State’s defense ranks 19th in the nation in points allowed per game (18.7) and 30th in rushing yards allowed per game (120). Michigan State has accounted for 48 tackles for loss and 26 sacks as the front seven is tenacious and aggressive at getting into the opposing offenses’ backfield.
