Watch: Minnesota players announce boycott of football activities
Minnesota football players are protesting the suspensions of 10 football players.
Those suspensions stem from a sexual assault case that occurred in September.
On Thursday, members of the Gophers football team met in a players-only meeting and decided they would boycott the Holiday Bowl schedule for Dec. 27 unless the suspensions were lifted. Later in the evening, the team stood together and released a statement:

Drew Wolitarsky is the player making the announcement and quarterback Mitch Leidner and tight end Duke Anyamwu are standing to the side.
The players have demanded a meeting with the University’s Board of Regents without the University’s president Eric Kaler or athletic director Mark Coyle.
Players are boycotting all football activities until their “demands have been met.”
