Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is backing her alma matter when it comes to Michigan State and Michigan playing this Saturday in East Lansing.

She declared Oct. 25 to Oct. 31 “Rivalry Week” ahead of Saturday’s matchup where there’s a ton at stake. The winner will get even closer to clinching a berth in not just the B1G Championship Game, but the College Football Playoff as well.

Despite her 2 kids going to Michigan, she wasn’t about to falter and support her rival school.

“Watching the Spartans and Wolverines battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy is one of our state’s greatest traditions. University of Michigan’s undefeated streak will come to an end Saturday in The Woodshed. I can’t wait to cheer on the Spartans! Tuck Comin’. Go green!”

The winner will also likely be in the top 5 of next week’s AP Top 25. Kickoff will be at Noon ET and it’ll be televised by FOX.
