A story is developing out of Champaign, concerning Illinois center Kofi Cockburn. After declaring for the draft at the end of last season, he subsequently withdrew and entered the transfer portal. After a series of events, Cockburn ended up back at Illinois for his junior season.
Apparently, there is an issue with his activities with respect to the sale of some Illini merchandise that took place prior to the NCAA’s action regarding Name, Image, and Likeness. Here’s what head coach Brad Underwood had to say about the issue:
#Illini Brad Underwood on Kofi Cockburn potential suspension for selling things with the Player's Trunk: We don't know anything about Kofi at this point. Going through the due diligence of the process of that.

Not much is known with regard to details, but there are rumors of suspensions and actions by the NCAA.
Earlier this week Cockburn was named to the preseason AP first-team All-American team. The Illini big man averaged 17.7 points during last season. He also averaged 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game en route to a B1G Tournament title and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
