Michigan struck first in this big game with a quick pass from quarterback Cade McNamara to wide receiver Andrel Anthony for a 93-yard touchdown play.

The defense of Michigan State knew they would have to watch out for the power run scheme of Michigan. What the Spartans didn’t anticipate was the quick passing of McNamara and the dangerous speed of Anthony.
Michigan’s first touchdown was set up thanks to an interception by R.J. Moten. It was the first big play of the game in East Lansing, stopping Michigan State’s opening drive on a Payton Thorne pass attempt.
