Illinois chose a good time for its longest play from scrimmage this year.
Trailing 7-0, Illinois quarterback Brandon Peters found Isaiah Williams with a perfect throw for a 52-yard touchdown to tie the game 7-7. It sure was pretty, wasn’t it?

Illinois is looking to build off last week’s huge performance against Penn State. The Illini took the then-No. 9 Nittany Lions to nine overtimes to eventually pull off the upset 20-18 in State College. It was quite a performance, but Illinois lost quarterback Art Sitkowski for the season with a broken arm in the effort. That opened the door for Peters to start again and throw that dime to Williams.
The tie was short-lived, though. Rutgers answered back with a field goal on the ensuing drive to re-take the lead, 10-7, with 5:42 left in the first half. You can catch the rest of the game on the B1G Network.
