Through the first seven weeks of the 2021 season, the No. 9 Iowa Hawkeyes have looked like they could have been a team that could make the College Football Playoff. In the last six quarters of play, Iowa looks like a completely different team.

Iowa took a bad 24-7 home loss to Purdue as the second-ranked team in the nation. They looked to fix their mistakes through a bye-week last week as they prepared for the Wisconsin Badgers, but they only look worse.

In the first half of the game on the road versus Wisconsin, the offense for Iowa has been incredibly disappointing by only accounting for 17 yards and 1 first down. The aggressive defense of Wisconsin has also forced three turnovers from Iowa.

Iowa is currently down 20-0 at halftime as Wisconsin gets the ball first in the second half.

Wisconsin’s defense deserves a ton of credit for completely shutting down the Hawkeyes. But it doesn’t mean the Iowa offense wasn’t really ugly through 30 minutes.
