Drew Beesley wasn’t going to be denied from seeing the field on Saturday. The Michigan State defensive end wanted to play in the rivalry game against Michigan.
That’s exactly what he did, too.
Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Beesley said he wasn’t quite 100% for Saturday’s game against the Wolverines. Still, he played in the game and helped the Spartans improve to 8-0 by notching a 37-33 win over their in-state rival.
Beesley said he “did what I could and what I had to do,” and though he was sore after the game, “it was worth it.”
DE Drew Beesley says he was about 85-90% vs. Michigan but thinks he can get back to 100%. “I did what I could and I did what I had to do.” Said he was a little more sore than normal after a month off “but it was worth it.”

Beesley still believes he can get back to 100% as Michigan State continues its magical run this season. The Spartans are the B1G’s last-remaining undefeated team and still have games against Purdue, Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State to close out a tough month.
Having Beesley back at full strength would be a huge benefit to the defense and the Spartans B1G Championship Game chances.
