When the Rutgers basketball team returns to action next week, they’ll do so in a newly named arena. Rutgers’ basketball facility will now be named Jersey Mike’s Arena after the school and company reached a naming rights agreement.
The place where we come together as one, relish in victories and cheer for our own has a new name with Jersey roots as strong as those who enter.
Introducing @jerseymikes Arena, home of the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers believes this is a natural fit for their program:
“Jersey Mike’s is the perfect partner for Rutgers Athletics,” Rutgers Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs said. “Our New Jersey brand extends beyond our borders; it is a state of mind that speaks to our core values of grit and the pursuit of excellence. Jersey Mike’s is an organization also engaged in the relentless pursuit of excellence, so what better partner for the State University of New Jersey?”
Rutgers posted a 16-12 record last season and recorded an NCAA Tournament appearance. Rutgers begins this season with a home matchup vs. Lehigh on Nov. 10. B1G play will tip off with a home contest vs. Purdue on Dec. 9 (7 p.m. EST/BTN).
