Ohio State product Michael Thomas is in the midst of a difficult injury situation and it’s taken another bad turn. The New Orleans Saints wide receiver has been declared out for the season due to the recovery from his ankle surgery.

Thomas tweeted the unfortunate news on his Twitter account on Nov. 3:

“I know God doesn’t make mistakes so I will continue to follow in his path, and can’t wait to be back on the field in front of the best fans on the planet,” Thomas said in the statement.

Thomas sustained the injury in Week 1 of the 2020 season and played through it that whole campaign. Thomas then underwent the surgery this June.

The 28-year-old Thomas led the league with 149 receptions en route to earning the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award in 2019. Thomas played three seasons at Ohio State and amassed 113 receptions, 1,602 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
