The NCAA has denied the appeal of Oklahoma State basketball after the program committed an infraction that went against the ethical conduct rules.

The violations were committed by former assistant coach Brad Underwood in 2016, who’s now the head coach for Illinois. OSU will not be eligible to play in the NCAA Tournament this season. The school appealed the ban to compete in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, which allowed it to participate in this year’s one but it won’t be happening for 2022.

Cowboys Athletic Director Chad Weiburg doesn’t seem too happy with this latest news.

“What message is the NCAA sending here? This is further evidence the NCAA system is broken.”

The Cowboys will still be able to play all of their regular-season games before having their season end before the annual tournament.
