Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck signed a massive contract extension on Wednesday morning that will keep him with the school for the next 7 years.

There was no salary breakdown in the announcement but it did finally come in a few hours later from Andy Greder.

According to Greder, Fleck has received roughly a $400,000 raise from $4.65M to $5.1M.

In terms of where that ranks among all the other coaches in the B1G, he’s now at No. 5, just ahead of Scott Frost (Nebraska) and Kirk Ferentz (Iowa).

It’s a raise well deserved with what he’s been able to do at Minnesota. He’s been the head coach there for 5 years and has a record of 32-21. His best season came in 2019 when he led the Golden Gophers to an 11-2 record and a win in the Outback Bowl.

Fleck currently has his team in the driver’s seat to win the B1G West at 6-2 overall, 4-1 in the conference. If the Gophers win out, they’ll be in Indianapolis in December.
