Walk-on RB the latest Ohio State freshman to shed his black stripe

The newest black stripe alert at Ohio State is freshman walk-on running back Cayden Saunders.
The program announced the awesome news on Twitter. Saunders has lost his black stripe, which means he can officially call himself a Buckeye:

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Saunders is a native of Michigan. Saunders was selected second-team all-district defensive back by the Detroit Free Press in 2020. Saunders is following in the footsteps of his father Cedric, who played tight end at Ohio State from 1990-93.
Ohio State checked in at No. 5 in the season’s first edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings. Ohio State is 7-1 overall and tied for first place in the B1G East. Ohio State is coming off a 33-24 victory vs. Penn State on Oct. 30.
Next up for Ohio State is a road matchup at B1G West opponent Nebraska on Nov. 6 (12 p.m. EST/FOX). Ohio State leads the all-time series 8-1 and is on a six-game winning streak vs. Nebraska.
