Penn State assistant coach Ja’Juan Seider thinks if Sean Clifford was available in 2 of the team’s 3 losses, the season would be vastly different.

Seider spoke to the media on Thursday about it and he seems to be sticking to it heading into this Saturday’s game against Maryland.

“Let’s be honest, man. Call a spade a spade. A healthy Sean Clifford and that Iowa game and Illinois game, it’s a different story, right? I know people don’t wanna hear that, but that’s the freakin’ truth and I’ll stick to it.”

Clifford got hurt during that game against Iowa while Penn State was winning. Seider may have a point, considering backup Ta’Quan Roberson came in and didn’t perform well, which sparked the comeback. That said, the team still lost and perhaps Iowa would’ve still won if Clifford played the whole game.

The Illinois one is also interesting due to Clifford playing the whole game. Yes, the Nittany Lions lost but he was still good enough to go out there and compete and played alright. He threw for 165 yards and 1 touchdown in the 20-18 loss.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game against the Terps will be at 3:30 p.m. ET.
