Former Ohio State linebacker, now B1G Analyst Joshua E. Perry broke down his top 5 breakout players from the B1G in the 2021 season.
The 2 top players were both from Michigan State. Running back Kenneth Walker III, and wide receiver Jayden Reed have both had great seasons so far for the Spartans and second-year head coach Mel Tucker.
Walker is second in the nation in rushing yards with 1,194 and 14 touchdowns and is currently one of two running backs on the Heisman Watch List. Reed leads the Spartans with 642 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns and has produced some electrifying moments in the return game.
Another big name on the list and coming in at No. 4 was none other than Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud has 2,270 yards passing with 23 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 2021. Stroud is also on the Heisman Watch List as the Buckeyes are up to No. 6 and looking strong after an early loss.
Other names on the list were both running backs. Michigan’s Blake Corum came in at No.3 and Wisconsin’s Braelon Allen was No. 5 on the list.
