Minnesota was flying high coming into this matchup against Illinois until it came crashing down.
The Fighting Illini held the Golden Gophers to just 6 points and upset them, 14-6 to mark their 2nd upset win in the last 3 weeks. The Gophers were scoreless through 3 quarters before making it more of a game in the 4th, but couldn’t close the gap by the time the final whistle blew.
Tanner Morgan struggled mightily in this loss and finished with just 180 yards passing with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Here’s what head coach P.J. Fleck had to say after this tough loss.
Coach Fleck:
"We will evaluate everything we are doing."
When asked if Tanner Morgan was still the best option for this team, Fleck responded "absolutely." #Gophers
