Here’s what Mel Tucker said after MSU’s upset loss to Purdue

Michigan State went on the road after Week 9’s dramatic win over Michigan. Unfortunately, the Spartans were unable to channel their magic this time around.
Facing off against Purdue, Mel Tucker’s team never had an answer for Aidan O’Connell and David Bell. The duo was nearly flawless with Bell netting his 2nd 200-yard performance against a top-5 team this season.
On the offensive side of the ball, Kenneth Walker III had 136 yards and a touchdown but also had a costly fumble and struggled to get rolling at key moments. Payton Thorne also threw a costly interception in the red zone while operating without wide receiver Jalen Nailor who did not make the trip to West Lafayette.
After the game, Tucker updated some of the injuries to key players while admitting the Spartans just got outplayed by Purdue. According to Tucker, Michigan State had a good week of practice coming out of the win in Week 9. Unfortunately, it didn’t translate into a win.
Here’s what Tucker had to say postgame:
Tucker said: "I don't feel any different about our team now than I felt before the game."

Tucker: "All of our goals are still ahead of us."

Matt Coghlin is “sore,” per Tucker. Jarrett Horst was out for a medical reason. They’ll be ready when they’re ready.
