Former Buckeye Damon Arnette released by Raiders after posting threatening video

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly releasing former Ohio State Buckeye and 1st-round draft choice Damon Arnette.
The cornerback has been on injured reserve since Week 4, but in 2 seasons with the Raiders, Arnette appeared in just 13 games and defended a total of 3 passes. The report comes from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Arnette was the 19th overall pick by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft. The move comes after a video of Arnette surfaced in which he is seen flashing several guns at the camera and threatening someone’s life multiple times. (The video can be seen here. It is quite NSFW.)
He is also reportedly facing two lawsuits. One was filed in October, alleging the cornerback of a hit-and-run in 2020 that caused bodily harm to a woman. The second alleges Arnette had an altercation with a valet worker at a casino in Vegas. Arnette allegedly spat on the worker, verbally berated him, and poked him in the chest over a missing valet ticket.
Arnette is the 2nd member of the Raiders’ 2020 draft class to be released in recent weeks. Wideout Henry Ruggs, also a 1st-round draft choice, was released following an arrest for a DUI that resulted in a car accident and the death of a 23-year-old woman.
