If there is one thing consistent about Wisconsin, it’s the Badger defense and playmakers at the linebacker position. According to Pro Football Focus, two of the top overall graded linebackers in the B1G are Wisconsin linebackers junior Leo Chenal (92.2) and senior Jack Sanborn (87.4).

In 7 games this season, Chenal has accounted for 67 total tackles, 35 solo tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. His best game of the season was in the 20-14 home win over Army when he accounted for 17 total tackles, 8 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble.
In 9 games this season, Sanborn has accounted for 63 total tackles, 34 solo tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He accounted for 13 total tackles in the 38-17 home loss to Michigan and 12 total tackles over Army.
Wisconsin is currently on a 5-game winning streak and has climbed into a tie for first place in the B1G West. A lot of that has been due to the strong defense, and there’s no denying Chenal and Sanborn are immensely vital pieces for that unit.
