Purdue has already played the giant killer twice this season, with wins over No. 19 Iowa and No. 8 Michigan State. Both teams were ranked in the top-5 at the time the Boilermakers came away with their wins, so for No. 6 Ohio State this weekend’s game in Columbus isn’t one to take lightly.
Buckeyes coach Ryan Day knows they’ll have their hands full with the Boilermakers defense.
Kevin Wilson said Purdue has a “really stout” defensive front seven, so Ohio State needs to execute better in the red zone this week.

The Purdue defense is only allowing 144 rushing yards per game. So, that means the Buckeyes will need to avoid becoming one-dimensional by abandoning the run should they hit a wall.
OSU running back TreVeyon Henderson tallied over 90 yards on Saturday against Nebraska in their 26-17 win. With the Boilermakers success stopping the run, quarterback CJ Stroud and the Buckeyes air attack will have to step up their game.
Nebraska gave the Buckeyes all they could handle, and the game was a struggle against one of the lesser teams in the B1G. Purdue is riding the momentum from their dominating win over the Spartans and with the defense playing as well as it is they bring plenty of confidence with them to Columbus.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
