At the end of the 2020 season, the Michigan and Michigan State football teams combined for a total of 4 wins and both teams were solidly at the bottom of the B1G East standings. Over in the Mid-American Conference, Western Michigan was the only team from the state with a winning record at 4-2.
Fast forward to today.
Don’t look now, but every FBS team in the state of Michigan is bowl eligible for the 2021 season. After Central Michigan’s 54-30 win over Kent State on Wednesday, the Chippewas moved their record to 6-4 overall. Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan, also MAC teams, both sit at 6-4 as well.
In football, Central Michigan beat Kent State, 54-30, to become bowl eligible. All five Division I teams in Michigan are bowl eligible.

In the B1G, No. 8 Michigan State and No. 9 Michigan both boast identical 8-1 records and are both a lock for a bid to a major bowl game.
As the various bowl committees start looking to fill their sidelines, it’ll be an exciting time in the state of Michigan. Fans in the state sure could use it after last season.
