CJ Stroud didn’t even need a complete season to tie a program record in his first year as a starting quarterback at Ohio State. It’s pretty remarkable the season he’s put together.

In Saturday’s win over No. 19 Purdue, Stroud completed 31-of-38 pass attempts for 361 yards and 5 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. It marked the third time in his career that he’s thrown 5 touchdown passes in a B1G game this season.

That ties a record set by Dwayne Haskins in 2018, also tossing 5 touchdown passes in 3 different conference games. Justin Fields, JT Barrett and Bobby Hoying all had 1.

Stroud is up to 30 touchdown passes this season with just 5 interceptions. He’s also thrown for 3,036 yards on the season with his performance in Ohio State’s 59-31 win over Purdue.

Ohio State is now 9-1 on the season and still undefeated in B1G play. The Buckeyes end the year with a home game against No. 7 Michigan State and a trip to Ann Arbor to play No. 6 Michigan.

The Buckeyes will need Stroud to continue playing at a high level to finish the year strong.
