Purdue QB Aidan O’Connell has been excellent this season for the Boilermakers leading the team to upsets of 2 B1G teams that were ranked No. 2 and No. 3 respectively in Iowa and Michigan State.
O’Connell this season for the Boilermakers is 234-of-323 for a 72.4% completion rate, throwing for 2,477 yards, 12 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Head coach Jeff Brohm spoke to the media Monday morning on the potential of O’Connell returning for the 2022 season.
Brohm: Have not discussed with Aidan O’Connell the prospects of coming back in 2022. He is fifth-year senior this year. Will discuss with him at end of season.

The head coach also talked about how well O’Connell has progressed throughout his career at Purdue and did not believe O’Connell would be where he is at today.
Brohm: We were lucky to get Aidan O’Connell as walk-on. Brohm knew O’Connell’s QB coach, Jeff Christensen, who recommended him. Brohm didn’t see back then that O’Connell would develop like he has.

The Boilermakers have 2 games left this season at Northwestern (Wrigley Field) and home vs. Indiana.
The Boilermakers could realistically finish with an 8-4 record, which would be their best record under Brohm.
