Another freshman has shed his black stripe in Columbus.

Wednesday morning, Ohio State announced that freshman offensive lineman Ben Christman has done enough to remove the black stripe from his helmet. He can now officially call himself a Buckeye.

Christman is a 6-foot-6, 315-pound lineman out of Akron. He was a 4-star member of the Buckeyes’ 2021 recruiting class, ranking No. 124 nationally.

It’s always an incredible honor for a player to shed the black stripe in Columbus. Christman becomes the latest to partake in a unique college football tradition.

Ohio State is ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings with a 9-1 record. The Buckeyes will close out the 2021 regular season with games against No. 7 Michigan State and No. 6 Michigan, their toughest 2-game stretch yet.

Can Christman and the Buckeyes make another trip to Indianapolis?
