Star running back Mo Ibrahim provided a jolt to Minnesota fans Wednesday morning, giving the Gophers an extra reason to be thankful for Thanksgiving.

Ibrahim, the 2020 B1G Running Back of the Year, was off to a great start to 2021 with a huge performance in the opening game of the year vs. Ohio State. Unfortunately, he went down with a season-ending injury in the second half, ending his campaign before it even really was fully started.

On Wednesday, Ibrahim announced via his Twitter page that he would be returning to the Gophers for one more year in 2022. Ibrahim could have left for the NFL Draft, but he will instead return and try to recreate his incredible numbers from the 2020 campaign.

It goes without saying, but Ibrahim’s return will be a big boost for Minnesota next season. Even though the ground game has produced some strong results in his absence, Ibrahim remains a game-changing talent in the B1G West.
